Bear hunting
If you’ve been walking on campus for long enough, you may have noticed we have a few imposing figures about town. There are a few obvious ones, like the one in Lower Sproul, and a few not too obvious ones, like the handles on the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union doors. You know what I’m talking about, right? Bears! The UC Berkeley campus is full of them, but have you ever wondered how many there really are? From the top of the Campanile to the bottom of the track field, there are over 20 unique bears to spot.
There’s a whole tour you could take yourself on; maybe it’s the perfect chance to see parts of campus you wouldn’t normally.

Of course, if that’s a little too slow for your tastes, you could always do the more fun thing: make it a race! Our friends here at Berkeley Life did just that!
How many bear statues could you find around the UC Berkeley campus in 30 minutes? 🔍🐻These teams went head to head with only hints to guide them.
